There are five public holidays in India that the employees get a day off automatically:
Republic Day - January 26 Labor Day - May 1 Independence Day - August 15 Gandhi Jayanthi - October 2 Karnataka Foundation Day - November 1
There are also 13 Regional/Religious Holidays in India, and employees are eligible for 5 of them.
For the five additional regional holidays, employees must submit a request under Other Leave. This way, it will not subtract from the employee's accrued PTO balance.
For other vacation days or time-off requests, it’s the same as everyone in Deel. Check here
In January of every year, or when a new employee joins, India-based employees will provide their managers and HR with a list of the five additional holidays they wish to take during that year. These holidays will be put in the company Holidays calendar.
Currently, for these two holidays, employees are entitled to a holiday gift as seen in Benefits Plan (Updated @November 13, 2023)
